Piazza Verdi got this name in 1951 and is located in the historic centre of Bologna, just a few minutes’ walk from the two towers symbols of the city and crossed by via Zamboni, the famous street of the University of Bologna.

From Piazza Verdi you can begin your walk to streets such as Via Giuseppe Petroni, Via dei Bibiena, Largo Respighi, Via de’Castagnoli and Via del Guasto, or see Palazzo Paleotti, which was from 1877 to 1890 the home of Aurelio Saffi, major figure of the Italian Renaissance. The Palazzo is nowadays location of a University’s Study Hall, a City Theatre and a side of the Church of Saint James the Great.
