SAN GIORGIO DI PIANO
Via Cinquanta, 7
Maranà-tha is a religious community founded in 1985 in San Giorgio di Piano. Next to the religious precepts to have a simple life, to share and help the others, the community is big into charity, and in its structures, it hosts families in need, single mothers, people with physical or psychical diseases and foster children.
The community strongly believes in the others as a tool for learning and growing and for so everyone is helped to preserve their rights and to improve their life’s quality. The structure can host many families and individuals at the same time. The life of the community is structured from meals to praying moments, from organisational tasks to the common management of cash.
The community is actually composed by six families that share a big house with a hospitality place and a chapel where to pray.
In 1999 the homonymous voluntary association was born from the community of Maranà-tha and in 2010 the foundation “è possibile” (“It’s possible”) was born in the name of Rosanna Cappi, owner of the patrimony and holder of the hospitality activity. The community is also one of the operation centres of the Caritas of Bologna.
